counterparts locked in counterbalance

like locusts rattling up the warm blush of dawn
sounded in echo-monde, lost in diffraction

when cries of a lamb hanging from the tall end of a fruit
was pitted from its pupil

then lurched into our hand of a child,
delicate fur, crackled wing,
pointing somewhere treeward

blue moon hanging: a nazar

shadow, i encounter you,
you are weight/wait
-- but beside you, we move in countertide
Eyes procuring me until I am nothing but from a memory turned unknowable image, wanting me as wanting from me.

Hands climbing from the rush, green chasing down with ivy, desperate for gains. Not knowing you emptied out your backside, loose change that you stole scattered like red wolfberry staining the sheepish snow.

Image: do not protect me.
You: do not know me as you know yourself.
My cells remember me from a past life
  branching at separation,
enough power to untether myself from you,
then I rose somehow untouched from my wake.

Moon high, beams down by the lowest tide at harvest.
Under the amber light,
  Cease. Rush.
water over rock
  Cease. Pulse.
full-circle crooning the morning bell
  Cease.
until I was clear.
Only I know my time.
